The 12 Volt Bathroom Extractor Fan

The extraction of steam and smells from the bathroom area has become one of the major areas of consideration in the extraction business. The advantage of extraction means that this area can be kept serviceable at all times. It also means that the bathroom can be built in areas where there is no outside wall or windows to open to remove the problem.

One of the latest developments is the introduction of the 12 volt bathroom extractor which has been designed to fit solely in an area where there is a possibility of steam and water getting to the unit. In this case the extractor fan can be fitted into any area in the bathroom and in particular into the shower area of the bathroom. The advantage of this fitment is that it removes the steam immediately from the room and moves it outside the building. This stops the problem of steam wetting everything within a reasonable distance of the shower and the invariable problem of half the windows in the property steaming up. It is even possible to use the bathroom mirror after the shower has been used.

The 12 v extractor fan can be fitted into the ceiling or the wall of the bathroom either in the shower or beside the bath and will extract some 85 cubic metres of air per hour and can be fitted to a 4″ ducting which will take the air and steam to the outside exit. The units are built in white thermo plastics and can fit well into the décor and tiling of any bathroom. The overall size is only 156mm x a56mm and stand 28mm off the wall. The unit has a variable timer overrun so that it will continue to operate after the person leaves the bathroom. The timer can be set for an overrun of between 20 seconds and 20 minutes. This overrun time is adequate for almost any normal situation that will be found.

The 12 volt extractor fan unit has the great safety advantage in that voltages of this low level present no electrical problems to the user at anytime but provide a good and efficient service in an area that was previously to dangerous to consider.
